A look back: Oct. 26, 1962
In a speech interrupted many times by thunderous applause, attorney Carl A. Neihoff last night outlined the Democratic Party’s program for progress to more than 1,000 people at the Wayne Armory in Honesdale.
Veteran observers in Wayne County said last night’s rally represented the largest crowd ever assembled in Wayne County. Nearly 100 people could not be accommodated at the armory and were taken to a nearby diner for dinner before the speaking program.
Gov. David L. Lawrence was the main speaker for the rally which was attended by a large delegation of Carbon County Democrats.
