A look back: Nov. 1, 1966

Dr. George Eicher, former superintendent of the Northampton County Schools, and Joseph Recaptio, a member of the state organization, were speakers at the third annual dinner meeting of the Carbon County Retired Teachers Association held at Trainer’s Inn, Lehighton, last night.

They spoke on legislation pertaining to retired teachers to the 49 people in attendance.

Francis Gerber, former supervising principal of Summit Hill, was the toastmaster. Nan Jenkins, association president and former assistant supervisor of Carbon County Schools, stated there are 169 retired teachers residing in the county. Other association officers are Elizabeth Reese, Jim Thorpe, and Martha Hall, Lansford.
