A look back: Nov. 5, 1952
The Lansford School Board last night received an anonymous letter containing $20 from a repentant ex-Lansford athlete.
The self-explanatory letter started:
“Many years ago while in high school I took athletic equipment valued at around $18. I am enclosing a $20 bill to cover the loss, which is due for many years. Please forgive me as my conscience demands it.”
In view of the fact that the school does not have a conscience fund, the directors voted to place the money in the general fund.
