Three injured in Carbon crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 1:40 p.m. Saturday along Mahoning Mountain Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred when Arthur Mroczka, 35, of Tobyhanna, driving a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg, pulled out from Troxell Hill Road in front of a 2015 Subaru Forester driven eastbound by Malinda S. Lupcho, 68, of Palmerton, and a collision occurred. The Forester came to rest off the eastbound lane while the Touareg came to rest in a field off the westbound lane.

Lupcho, Mroczka and his passenger Beata Mroczka, 30, were injured and taken to the Lehighton hospital. Another passenger with Mroczka, Tomasz A. Grabowiec of Brooklyn, New York, was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
