Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners approved or discussed the following items during their meeting last week.
• No bids were received for bridge 17’s guide rail project. This is the third time the project was bid out. The county must now check with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on how it can proceed since liquid fuels money is being used for the project.
• Accepted the retirement of Raymond G. Donnelly of Jim Thorpe, lead carpenter, buildings and grounds, effective Nov. 2.
• Accepted the resignation of Gurpeet Kaur of Allentown, accountant II, Area Agency on Aging, effective Nov. 16.
• Approved the employment separation of Julie D. Harris of Lehighton, second deputy, clerk of courts, effective Oct. 23; and Gregg D. Koons of Lehighton, purchasing manager trainee, effective Nov. 1.
• Approved the hiring of Peter M. Nyamari of Bethlehem, county caseworker II, children and youth; Ronda S. Roberts of Albrightsville, part-time senior center manager I; and Jessica M. Pruitte of Jim Thorpe, legal secretary III, public defender; all effective Nov. 5.
• Approved the sheriff appointment of James A. Golding of Jim Thorpe, special deputy sheriff trainee, effective Oct. 29.
• Approved the changes of status of Carla A. Fritz of Lehighton, from temporary part-time clerk, clerk administration, to bench warrant clerk, clerk of courts, effective Oct. 24; Amanda L. Miller of Summit Hill, from bench warrant clerk, clerk of courts, to clerical specialist, clerk of courts, effective Oct. 22; Paul J. Levy of Allentown, from first assistant public defender to first assistant public defender and solicitor of clerk of courts, effective Oct. 22; and Sarah M. Sherer of Palmerton, from department clerk III, court administration, to administrative assistant, court administration, effective Nov. 5.
• Approved a leave of absence for Samantha M. Jones of Summit Hill, from Nov. 9 to Nov. 26.
