Shame on them
Dear Editor,
I have a few thoughts about two separate articles in the Times News’ Oct. 26 edition.
On Page 9 of this edition is a lengthy article penned by two obvious politically biased partisans (Robert Burns and Jill Colvin), who purportedly are Associated Press journalists. In their report on the northward advance of several thousand people toward the U.S. border, these two writers make no attempt to disguise their contempt for President Trump, the rule of law, or our nation’s sovereignty. One of their more preposterous statements, “Trump, who made fear about immigrants a major theme of his 2016 election campaign,” is not only a provocative and outrageous claim but an outright lie. The same can be said for another of their false assertions, “a president who has sought to transform fears about immigrants into electoral gains.”
The truth — something every clear-thinking American already knows — is that President Trump’s public remarks and his agenda while in office have been confined to “ILLEGAL” immigration and “ILLEGAL” aliens. But, as with all far-left open border lunatics, writers Burns and Colvin will never refer to the term “ILLEGAL” when discussing lawless immigrants who choose to break in through the back door of our home rather than coming through the front door in a legal and prescribed manner. This entire article was little more than a hit piece by two political hacks. The tenor and tone was slanted and left little doubt about these writers’ leftist agenda. Shame on them, shame on The Associated Press, and shame on the Times News for even printing it.
On Page 8 of this same edition, a guest columnist on the opinion page tells us that newspaper reporters aren’t promoting any party or candidate and they aren’t pushing a particular point of view. We are told that journalists are certainly not the enemy. In fact, the title of this particular column is, “One more time: Journalists are not the enemy.”
Really?!? I, for one, am fed up reading leftist dogma camouflaged as factual reporting by partisans pretending to be mainstream media “journalists” — and that includes The Associated Press corps. Most of what they write are deliberate lies or half-truths, and are an insult to the intelligence of this newspaper’s subscribers.
