Published November 13. 2018 12:39PM

Students from the choral ensembles of Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Palmerton, Panther Valley and Weatherly high schools will meet together in song at Palmerton High School on Thursday.

They will spend the day working with and polishing choral music they have prepared over the past several months with Master Conductor Dr. Paula Zerkle of Moravian College.

This celebration of choral singing will culminate that evening in a public concert at the Palmerton High School at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, and $4 for seniors and students.

Zerkle is the director of vocal music at Moravian College in Bethlehem. She conducts Moravian College Choir, Chorale, Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Vocalis, a small a cappella choral ensemble. Zerkle is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in music and French. She received two Master of Music degrees in choral and orchestral conducting from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and has a doctorate in choral music from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
