Published August 26. 2016 04:01PM

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a motorcycle operator eluded a trooper who tried to pull him over at 10:25 p.m. Aug. 19 in the area of the Lentz Trail and Route 902 in Summit Hill Borough.

Police said the officer observed the motorcycle traveling north on Route 902 at the intersection of the Lentz Trail and followed it. The trooper noticed the motorcycle did not have a registration plate. While following the motorcycle, the officer clocked it at 60 mph in a 45 mph. zone.

Police said when the officer activated the lights and siren on the police cruiser to conduct the traffic stop, the operator initially turned on the turn signal on the motorcycle, but then decided to not pull over and fled at a high rate of speed.
