Thanksgiving dinners
• Living Hope Lighthouse Church in Palmerton is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The church is located at 705 N. Third St, Palmerton.
• The Tamaqua Salvation Army will host a free Thanksgiving Day dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 22. Meals will also be delivered to shut-ins who register at least one week in advance by calling 570-668-0410. Thanksgiving food baskets will be distributed between noon and 6 p.m. on Nov. 20 for those families who preregistered.
• St. John’s United Church of Christ at 15 S. Second St. in Slatington is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 22. All are welcome. Reservations are appreciated, but not required. Dinners will be delivered to “shut-ins” in the Northern Lehigh area, but calls for delivery must be received by Monday. Call the church office at 610-767-5554 for questions, reservations or home delivery. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.
• The American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert is hosting a free community traditional Thanksgiving dinner, with all the trimmings, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, for those in need, serving from noon to 4 p.m. For information, call Peggy at 610-681-5838.
