Work is advancing on a commercial shell building on Route 54 across from the Hometown Farmers Market, seen here last week. The site at 134 Mahanoy Ave. hosted several very popular establishments over the years, including Vitale’s Restaurant, Riley’s Bar and Restaurant and Hometown Tavern. The current owner, William Webber, has not announced specific plans for the building. Webber owns and operates Bill’s Produce, a fruit and vegetable market in Schuylkill Haven. DONALD R.
