A look back: Nov. 20, 1963

Gordon Bennett, Lehighton store owner and banker, was elected president of the Carbon County Fair Association at a meeting held last night at Bossard’s Hotel, Lehighton. He succeeds Josiah Behrens.

Other officers elected to the offices they held in the past year were A.E. Bayer, vice president; Grant Bossard, secretary; and Allen Mertz, treasurer.

Named to the board of directors were Edward Mandour, Chester Mangold, Ralph C. Rehrig, George Ruch, Willard Green, Charles Warner, Marvin Mertz, Behrens, William Tiley, L.F. Christman, Ralph Kreamer, Jacob Arner and Guy Gerhard.

William Zahn served as temporary chairman during the election.
