W. Penn approves police agreement with chief, sergeant

Published November 27. 2018 01:36PM

The top two ranking members of West Penn Township’s police force have received raises.

That’s after the township’s board of supervisors unanimously agreed last week to approve the police labor agreement.

The agreement pertains to township police Chief Brian Johnson and Sgt. Jason Lorah.

Both Johnson and Lorah will receive a 5 percent increase in each of the next three years.

Johnson, who is salaried, will make $55,700 in 2019, while Lorah, who is paid hourly, will make $23.80 per hour next year.

Resident David Lapinsky said it was wise of the board to lock up both men.

“I would recommend you need to do whatever you need to do,” Lapinsky said.
