Schuylkill County personnel changes approved

During a meeting Wednesday, the Schuylkill County Commissioners approved changes in personnel, set salaries and made appointments on behalf of the Schuylkill Conservation District.

In 911/Communications, Jasmine Salen, Palo Alto, was hired as telecommunications 3 trainee at a rate of $12.84 per hour.

In Children & Youth, Hannah Cappella, Schuylkill Haven, was hired as county caseworker 1 at a rate of $17.61 per hour. Renee Tessitore, Washington Township, was hired as county caseworker 2 at a rate of $18.98 per hour.

In the Election Bureau, Connor Matz, Wayne Township, was hired as election technology coordinator at a rate of $18.68 per hour.

In Engineering, a position was eliminated and revamped. The position of Engineering Technician/Planner was eliminated and changed to Engineering Technician/ADA Coordinator. Jacqueline Pellish, Pottsville, was employed as the Engineering Technician/Planner and will remain employed as the Engineering Technician/ADA Coordinator. County Administrator Gary Bender explained that Pellish had always performed the ADA work; adjusting her job title will allow the county to use Community Development Block Grant funds to pay for that aspect of her work.

In Human Resources, R. Ann Kraft, East Brunswick Township, has been appointed to administrative assistant at a rate of $19.55 per hour.

Janet Maurer, Pottsville, has retired as secretary in court administration. In the Sheriff’s office, Nickolas Price, Ashland, was appointed for an unpaid internship. In the District Attorney’s office, Detective Leo Securda has retired, and Edward Lizewski, Pine Grove, was hired as detective. Lizewski will be paid $21.13 per hour.

In other action, the commissioners reappointed Stanley Fidler, Pottsville, to a four-year term as a member of the board of directors for the Schuylkill Conservation District. The board also appointed Dennis Daubert, Pine Grove, to the board of directors. Commissioner Gary Hess will remain as the county commissioner director on the Conservation District board.
