A look back: Dec. 3, 1996
It was like a scene from an action adventure movie.
At 4:50 p.m. yesterday, a pickup slammed into the front of the Panther Valley High School, knocked the wall down, and roared across room 104, pushing school desks in a pile in front of it. The truck hit the opposite wall so hard the lockers in the hallway on the other wide were knocked out of the wall.
Summit Hill police declined to identify the three teenagers involved in the incident, but are filing charges against two of them after learning a 17-year-old boy let a 15-year-old girl operate the truck. She will be charged with driving without a license and careless driving, police said.
