A Carbon County woman entered guilty pleas on Monday in six pending criminal cases including three theft counts and three drug counts.

Ashley Nichole Tansley, 29, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty before Judge Steven R. Serfass to two counts of retail theft, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of theft.

One retail theft occurred at Mallard Market in Lehighton on Aug. 21; and the second at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township on June 23, 2017. The theft count was for stealing a BMX bicycle from a home in Mahoning Township on April 26, 2017. The three drug arrests occurred on Feb. 6, 2017, along Jamestown Street in Mahoning Township; May 5, 2017, at the Walmart store; and the third on May 3, 2017, in the 100 block of South First Street in Lehighton. In two of the drug incidents charges of possession of a controlled substance were dropped in a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office.

Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report. He also ordered Tansley to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Tansley is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.
