Pedestrian struck in Palmerton, a portion of Delaware Avenue shut down

A portion of Delaware Avenue in Palmerton remains closed after a pedestrian was struck this morning.

According to scanner reports, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue just before 7 a.m.

Emergency crews responded and the person was flown to a hospital. Police are still on scene and traffic is being detoured around the scene.
