W. Penn discusses sewage maintenance ordinance
West Penn Township plans to review a sewage maintenance ordinance relative to its Act 537 plan requirements.
Supervisors briefly discussed the potential ordinance at last week’s meeting.
The purpose of the ordinance is to provide for the regulation, inspection, maintenance & rehabilitation of on-lot sewage disposal systems.
Supervisors asked township secretary Katie Orlick to contact sewage enforcement officer Bill Brior to find out how many holding tanks are currently in the township.
Board solicitor Paul J. Datte and the board will then review the sample ordinance Brior sent to see if the board would want to adopt the ordinance.
