AOH St. Patrick’s Day parade committee donates to nonprofit groups

    Members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee distributed surplus funds remaining from their annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade fund to aid local nonprofit organizations. The funds had been used to finance the parade, which ended this year after a 21-year run. Accepting the $1,000 checks from the AOH were, front from left: Leon Frohnheiser and Eddie Glassic, Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League Toys for Tots; Bill Taylor, president of the St. Joseph Food Pantry in Jim Thorpe; Carbon County Commissioner Tom Gerhard and Director of the Carbon County Animal Shelter Tom Connors, representing the animal shelter.
