Kunkletown woman escaped injuries in mishap

Brenda C. Gierend, 76, of Kunkletown , escaped injuries when a vehicle she was driving struck a deer that had entered its path while the woman was driving on Rimrock Road in Hamilton Township.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said the woman was unable to avoid striking the deer that entered the roadway. The vehicle, a 2008 Lincoln Continental, sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
