Palmerton council

Palmerton Borough Council took the following action:

• A vacant position on the Palmerton Zoning Hearing Board was filled by Andrew Hollywood. The borough is still looking to fill the following positions: a Zoning Hearing Board alternate, a vacancy on the Board of Health, an opening on the Council Vacancy Board and two vacant positions on the tree commission.

• The borough is in the process of addressing an ongoing issue of low water pressure on the 700 and 800 block of Princeton Avenue.

• The council accepted the 2019 salary schedule for union and nonunion employees of the Palmerton Borough.

• The council set its 2019 meeting schedule. Meetings will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month January through October, and on the first and third Thursday of November and December.
