New Tripoli residents escape crash injuries

Jonathan M. Turner, 22, and Laura N. Kresge, 23, both of New Tripoli, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:26 p.m. Dec. 26 on Independent Road in Weisenberg Township, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said Turner was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Independent road, just east of Seigfriedale Road, when it failed to negotiate a sharp right curve in the road. The car traveled across the eastbound lane, exited the roadway and struck a ditch off the eastbound lane shoulder. Kresge was a passenger in the vehicle.

The car was towed from the scene.

Police said Turner was cited for the incident.
