This Week at Lehighton Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St.:
Sanctity of Life Sunday at 10:45 a.m., Suzi DeMara, Care Net Executive Director. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting, prayer devotional and singing, 7-8 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

• Family Promise Support Week: Jan. 20-26.
• Bare Necessities Pantry: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 26, St. Peter’s Community Resource Center, Franklin Township.

In need of children’s clothing 2T-5T, 7-12 and men’s jeans and T-shirts, all sizes. Clothing can be dropped off Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the side door of the church. Items will be distributed at St. Peter’s Community Resource Center, Main Road, Franklin Township.

Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.
Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Ephesians.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
Trinity highlights
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion and recognition of 2018 baptisms begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available for those with allergy issues. Music is provided by the Praise Band. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school for students ages 3 through grade six begins at 10:45 a.m. Classes will not meet Jan. 20 due to the annual meeting, when a review of the previous year’s congregational activities are reported with discussion. Classes resume Jan. 27.
“Breaking Bread” youth group for students in grades seven-12 will meet in the youth room from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 20. Led by Vicar Rich Bergen, the group has supper, Bible study with discussion, service project and games.
In the event of inclement weather which may lead to cancellations, check listings on WFMZ-TV, BRCTV Channel 13, or Trinity’s Facebook page. In addition, a message will be recorded on the church phone within two hours of the worship time.
A reminder about the food pantry: Extended hours are available on the third Tuesday (Jan. 15) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This time follows the regular hours of operation, which are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Appointments in January are available for individuals to arrange a baptismal date and/or congregational membership. Call the church office at 610-377-4303 during business hours.
