N. Lehigh director of technology to retire
Northern Lehigh School District’s head of technology is set to retire at the end of this school year.
On Monday, the school board accepted the retirement resignation of John Hrizuk, director of technology, effective June 30.
At that time, Hrizuk will retire with 21 years of service with the district.
Superintendent Matthew J. Link praised Hrizuk for his contributions to the district.
The board also accepted the resignation of Brittany Keyser from her position as part-time cook’s helper at Slatington Elementary School, effective Jan. 4.
Appointments
• Sarah Fink, temporary vacancy replacement Slatington Elementary sixth-grade teacher, replacing an employee on a family medical leave of absence, $48,750, effective Dec. 20, with a termination date of Jan. 27. Fink received daily substitute rate for the first 30 days of assignment until she reached temporary vacancy replacement status on Dec. 20.
• Kimberly Bayer, temporary vacancy replacement senior high school mathematics teacher, replacing an employee who retired, substitute teacher rate days 1-30, day 31 and beyond $48,750, effective Jan. 22, with a termination date of the end of the 2018-19 school year. Her appointment was approved on a 7-0 vote, with an abstention from Director Michelle Heckman.
• Sarah Fink, temporary vacancy replacement Slatington Elementary sixth-grade teacher, replacing an employee on a family medical leave of absence, at a salary of the substitute teacher rate days 1-30, day 31 and beyond $48,750, effective Jan. 28, with a termination date on or about March 21.
• Delores Allen, high school cafeteria monitor, $11.20 per hour, Monday through Friday, four hours per day, five days per week, 180 student days a school year, effective Dec. 10, with a 60-day working day probationary period.
• Peggy Perry, high school Life Skills paraprofessional, $12.28 per hour, Monday through Friday, 5 3/4 hours per day, five days per week, 180 student days a school year, effective Jan. 15.
• Zachary Merkle, PK-4; special education PK-8, substitute teacher, for the 2018-19 school year at the 2018-19 substitute teacher rates as approved on the Supplemental Personnel Salary Schedule.
• Kathy Williams, substitute cafeteria worker, for the 2018-19 school year at the 2018-19 substitute rate as approved on the Supplemental Personnel Salary Schedule.
