Car lands in creek in Lower Towamensing

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt traveled off the roadway, down an embankment and landed in a creek at 3:31 p.m. Monday on Hemlock Street in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said the vehicle was traveling south when the driver attempted to slow down by applying the brakes.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, which went onto the right shoulder, traveled into the woods and went down the embankment before coming to rest in the creek.
