One person was displaced from the Lehighton Hi-Rise after a kitchen fire broke out Sunday evening.

Borough fire Chief Pat Mriss said firefighters responded to the hi-rise at 7:30 p.m. for a small kitchen fire in one of the apartments.

Mriss said no one was injured in the incident, which was ruled accidental.

He said firefighters were on scene for about 90 minutes

“Everything went well,” Mriss said.
