Pocono Alliance creates self-advocacy guide for residents
Pocono Alliance, a nonprofit located in Stroudsburg, has created a Self-Advocacy Resource Guide to help inform Monroe County residents about their rights when faced with an obstacle, and when possible, empower them to develop their own plan of action to address issues before they get worse.
With the Self-Advocacy Resource Guide, Monroe County residents have the tools to speak up and address an issue that affects their quality of life.
The guide empowers residents to make choices and decisions that will impact their lives, and ultimately create a self-sufficient community.
Pocono Alliance operates the PoconoInfo/211 Helpline for Monroe County. The helpline handles calls from a large number of residents who have questions regarding their rights with a variety of needs including; Landlord/tenant rights, discrimination questions, legal issues and other needs.
The guide is accessible on the Pocono Alliance website from the PoconoInfo page at https://poconoalliance.org/get-help/poconoinfo.
