A look back: Jan. 22, 1982
The widow of a McAdoo man, who was seriously injured when pranksters knocked over an outdoor toilet he was in at a church bazaar, received $305,000 as a settlement of her Wrongful Death Act suit.
Schuylkill County Judge Donald D. Dolbin approved the settlement to Marie K. Stefanisko on behalf of her late husband Edward.
He suffered a fractured cervical vertebrae, which made him a quadriplegic, when the five youths pushed over the Job Johnny while Stefanisko was in it while attending the bazaar on Aug. 1, 1976, at Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church, McAdoo. He passed away in 1978.
