Nesquehoning police cite three for crashes

Nesquehoning police cited three drivers following crashes in the borough last month.

The first crash happened at 10:34 a.m. on Sept. 19, police said.

A vehicle, driven by Kaitlin Karnish, 18, of Weatherly, was traveling westbound on Catawissa Street when she lost control while trying to negotiate a left turn. Karnish traveled over the curb and struck a pickup owned by the Kovatch Corporation that was parked at the time. No one was in the pickup at the time of the collision.

Karnish was cited for the incident.

At 3:40 p.m., on Sept. 27, police were called to a three-vehicle crash along the 100 block of West Catawissa Street.

A Honda SUV had been traveling east when it struck the rear of a Nissan sedan, which then struck the rear of a Chevrolet pickup.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Nicholas Lambert, 30, of Weatherly, was cited for the incident.

At 3 p.m., on Sept. 28, a two-vehicle crash occurred in front of Panther Valley Elementary School.

Police said the car, driven by a 16-year-old female, failed to stop in time and struck the rear of another vehicle that had stopped.

The juvenile was cited for the crash.
