Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Tuesday: Wrapped in Prayer Ministry, 10 a.m.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting, prayer devotional and singing, 7-8 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir rehearsal, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.
Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Ephesians.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
St. John’s Lutheran Church
St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W., Lehighton, has announced the following events.
Youth Group “Big Game” Food Challenge to help local food pantry mission is asking for donations of a nonperishable food item in one of the Big Game Team bins. They will be collecting items until Feb. 3. The goal is to see if the congregation can predict the “big game” winner by the amount of food collected.
Worship service 9 a.m. Sunday with Holy Communion. Special congregational meeting in fellowship hall with the Rev. Fred Crawford of the NEPA Synod.
Grief support meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the family room.
Worship service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16. in the church hall “Come as You Are” worship. This is an informal setting. Snacks are provided.
Prayer Shawl Ministry invites anyone who would like to get together to work on projects. The meetings are also for those who would like information on making the shawls. They are currently looking for people to crochet or knit lap robes and shawls. The yarn is provided and can be picked up at the church. Thank you to people living in the area who generously donated supplies and lap robes to the ministry. To date, they have provided more than 740 items to people needing comfort during times of illness and death. Prayer shawls and lap robes may be requested for anyone in need of comfort (not limited to members of the congregation). PAC, Parents with Autistic Children, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Trinity happenings
First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 5 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
The Souper Bowl of Caring is dedicated to help feed hungry neighbors. The appeal takes place on Super Bowl Sunday. Monetary donations are requested to benefit the Trinity pantry. Donations may be placed in cook pots labeled with team logos and a pot for those who are neutral.
Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade resume next week at 10:45 a.m. The snow makeup day for the annual congregational meeting is at 10:45 a.m. Sunday when congregational members are requested to attend.
First Tuesday quiet communion is 10 a.m. Tuesday.
