Carbon County sells off used vehicles
Carbon County will receive $7,730 on eight used buses and two county vehicles.
On Thursday, the commissioners opened bids for a number of former LANTA buses that the county used for its community transit programs. The buses that were for sale were replaced in the Carbon County Community Transit fleet.
The sole bidder for the eight vehicles was Roger Koski of South Lyon, Michigan, with a bid of $713 for five of the vans, and $703, $1,003 and $873 for the other three vans. The minimum bid was $700.
The commissioners then awarded the vehicles to Koski.
In addition, Koski submitted the highest bid of $873 for a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu; and $713 for a 2008 Ford Taurus. Two bids were received for each vehicle.
In other matters, the commissioners accepted the resignations of Elaine J. Koons from the Children and Youth Services Advisory Board; Rodger P. Danielson from the Carbon County Planning Commission after April 30; and Margaret A. Sandefer of Lehighton, part-time dispatcher/trainee, effective Jan. 11.
They also approved an amendment to a multimodal grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority that was received in the amount of $485,619 to be used for the widening of Emergency Lane. The amendment is for extending the grant agreement to June 30, 2020, because weather delayed the project this past summer.
