Fall-risk assessment

Diakon Community Services will offer free fall-risk assessment workshops from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 15 and 18 at the Tamaqua Salvation Army building, 105 W. Broad St.

Falls are a leading cause of hospitalization and disability for adults older than 60, says Jenny Wagner of Diakon Community Services.

“These workshops will measure fall risk through a variety of screenings and show participants what they can do to reduce those risks.”

The program is offered at no charge and includes a course booklet. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions and family members and caregivers also are welcome.
