Bob Huston, vice president of the Strick Corporation, yesterday announced the firm’s Mahoning Township plant was closing within 60 to 120 days, allowing the company to streamline its manufacturing process.
Huston said 40 employees were offered positions in other Pennsylvania plants, located in Berwick, Danville and Hughesville, and with the company in other states.
Employees fabricate truck trailers at the Mahoning site. Huston said the company officials decided that relocating the fabrication process within its other assembly plants would be cost-effective.
The company plans to put its Mahoning quarters up for sale.
