WEST PENN TOWNSHIP

West Penn Township supervisors took the following action Monday morning:

• Agreed to have board solicitor Paul J. Datte write a letter to the state Department of Transportation on behalf of Scott Soley for his property at Soley’s Towing, New Ringgold. PennDOT said that Soley’s property does need a fence, and they are willing to pay for it, but need a letter from the board because the business has been in operation since before the township’s rules and regulations were in place.

• Agreed to advertise for mowing for both parks in the township.

• Marlin Zehner, from the West Penn Park Commission, announced that the park received a donation of a gas stove for the stand at the West Penn Park on Zion Stone Church Road courtesy of the West Penn Lions Club.

• Zehner announced that the West Penn Community Park Cleanup will be held at 8 a.m. April 6, with a rain date of April 13.
