Hazleton man cited in McAdoo

Silas Plunkett Jr., 24, of East Broad Street, Hazleton, was cited by McAdoo Police following a traffic stop on Aug. 13.

Plunkett was driving a black Lexus on South Kennedy Drive at 1:59 a.m. He drove past the patrolman with the car's lights off, leading to a traffic stop.

A strong odor of marijuana wafted from the Lexus as the officer spoke with Plunkett, who denied using the drug. His tongue had a light green color, which is an indicator of marijuana use.

He was given, and failed, field sobriety tests, then cited for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
