McAdoo traffic stops lead to arrests
McAdoo Police released information on two traffic stops that resulted in arrests.
• On Feb. 4, at 1:50 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on North Kennedy Drive for driving with no lights. The front seat passenger, Christine Oxner, 47, of Andreas, had arrest warrants from Schuylkill and Carbon counties.
Officers conducted a search and found her to be in possession of two hypodermic needles, six empty wax packets stamped “New World,” four empty wax packets stamped “Safe,” a silver spoon with white powder residue and a plastic bag with two rocks of crystal methamphetamine.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, to answer to the warrant.
The back seat passenger, Xavier Gomez, 31, of Hazleton, produced a glass pipe from his pocket and admitted using it to smoke marijuana. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
• At 1:06 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2018, officers stopped a vehicle for heavily tinted windows and a nonfunctioning brake light. The driver, Jhandel Corporan, 24, of Reading, was driving with a suspended license.
A piece of glass on the dashboard contained an inspection sticker, which had been issued to a different vehicle. The door handle on the rear driver’s side contained loose marijuana. Corporan and his passenger, Marisneyli Acevedo, 29, of Reading, denied ownership of the marijuana.
Both were cited for possession of marijuana, while the driver was also charged with driving with a suspended license, inspection violations and a traffic citation for not having the required lights.
