A look back: March 6, 1975
The Summit Hill Zoning Hearing Board gave its approval last night for the operation of a spaghetti “factory” at 139 E. White St.
The request was made by Jerome Citro, who was previously refused the permit for the business because White Street is zoned residential.
There were no objectors to the variance request. Citro said he and his 22-year-old son, Jerome Jr., will operate the business, along with a few other employees who will be utilized for making deliveries.
He said the factory will make several types of macaroni, which will be dried, boxed and refrigerated from the location. Citro said the business will be no larger than the usual “corner store.”
