Schuylkill commissioners open bids, seek bids
During a workshop meeting Wednesday, the Schuylkill County Commissioners opened two bids for changes in the courthouse, and one bid for Narcan.
Schuylkill County’s Drug & Alcohol Agency, which received a $30,000 grant for the purchase, sought bids for the purchase of Narcan, in both injectable and nasal administration doses. Narcan is the brand name for a drug called naloxone, which can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Remedy Repack Inc., Indiana, Pennsylvania, was the sole bidder at a cost of $33.75 for naloxone 2 mg/2 mL syringe one pack and $75 for Narcan 4 mg nasal spray two pack.
Two companies sent bids for the courthouse blind replacement project. Blinds to Show, Orwigsburg, bid $25,452 and Salvatore DeLuca, Wilkes-Barre, bid $16,675. Both provided a bid bond.
Three companies bid for the installation of an air conditioning system for Courtroom 1. The low bidder is Antz Energy Systems Inc., Shenandoah, at $256,799, The other bidders are Leibold Inc, Pottsville at $283,000 and Spotts Brothers Inc., Schuylkill Haven at $298,460. All three companies provided a bid bond.
The commissioners are also seeking bids for window cleaning for the Courthouse, the 911 Communications building, the Office of Senior Services building and the Children & Youth building. Bids are due in Controller Christy Joy’s office by 3 p.m. March 25 to be opened March 27 with a tentative award date of April 3.
