The price tag to fix the Coaldale Complex could be $200,000 or higher, but the feds say they want to help.

U.S. Rep. Tim Holden, who represents Coaldale as the 6th Congressional District standard-bearer, pledge his support to the commission headed by Mike McHugh, president.

An engineering study showed while the building is structurally sound, a recent collapse of ceilings in the former high school necessitates extensive remedial work.

Mayor John Radocha said the building dates back to the 1920s.

It currently houses a child care center and is the site of Carbon County Head Start.
