Stop the turbines
Dear Editor,
I am a resident of Carbon County who goes to work every day, avoids crime, pays my taxes, and the best part, I am not on opioids. There are quite a few of us out here. We don’t have to tap into any of the many government programs that have been established to address county problems.
I would, however, like to be able to go outside, look up at the horizon, and not see 600-foot-tall Bethlehem Water Authority wind turbines. Do I ask for too much? Wind turbines are the JV team of power generation. They must be backed up by conventional power generation.
Why would I trade off the God-given beauty of this county for second rate power generation? The scenic beauty we have is the number one drawing card to this county. I would like to see our county government involved in some solution for this problem. If this isn’t county business, I don’t know what is.
