Palmerton man charged in crash
Ronald L. Strohl, 63, of Palmerton, was cited by state police at the Lehighton barracks for a traffic sign violation after a two-vehicle crash at 2:46 p.m. Sept. 30 at the intersection of Fireline and Gold roads in Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said he was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra westbound on Fireline Road after entering the roadway from Golf Road. Police said he failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle, a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant driven eastbound on Fireline Road by a 17-year-old boy from Palmerton, which struck the Sierra.
No one was hurt in the crash.
Police said the Galant sustained disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.
The Sierra was driven from the scene.
