Schuylkill County Court — Judge Goodman
Two men received county prison sentences as a result of cases heard by Schuylkill County Judge James P. Goodman on March 21.
Angelo V. Maldonado, 29, West Hazleton, violated conditions of probation resulting from a sentence on Oct. 6, 2017. Maldonado must pay costs, fines and assessments that were originally imposed and be incarcerated for four to eight months, giving him a new max date of July 19.
Daniel J. Sabol, 38, Lansford, was arrested March 17, 2018, by Coaldale Police officer Thomas Sabulsky and charged with two counts intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while operator privileges are suspended or revoked, and a restraint system violation/child booster seat.
Sabol withdrew a prior not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to all charges. Goodman sentenced him to 60 days on the driving while license suspended or revoked charge, and 15-30 days on the possession of marijuana charge, to run concurrently.
On the two counts of possession of controlled substance, he was sentenced to six to 23 months at the county prison. On the restraint system violation, he must pay fines totaling $175. The first 60 days of his sentences will be served at the prison; the remainder may be served at an inpatient facility if he is accepted.
