Schuylkill County Court — ARD

On March 12, President Judge William E. Baldwin ordered the following defendants into the ARD Program for 12 months:

Francis R. Styka, 49, McAdoo, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police-Frackville trooper Michael Van Buslark April 10, 2018, and charged with DUI/general impairment, DUI/highest, and careless driving. Styka was admitted to ARD on count 2 DUI for a period of 12 months. He must pay costs, 1 $500 assessment fee, $50 to the CJEA, $25 EMS, $75 MCARE, $300 substance abuse education fund, and $120 to SMC-S. He must complete Alcohol Highway Safety School, with two to three months outpatient and complete 10 hours community service. He will undergo a license suspension for 60 days. On count 3, careless driving, he must pay fines and costs totaling $102.

Deborah Marie Vargas, 25, Tamaqua, was arrested June 9, 2018, by McAdoo Police Department officer Steven Torres and charged with obstructing the administration of law and disorderly conduct. She must pay a $350 assessment fee, $50 to the CJEA, and complete 10 hours community service.

Luke Scott Cann, 18, Mountain Top, was arrested April 29, 2018, by McAdoo Police Department officer William Curilla and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He must pay a $500 assessment fee, $50 to the CJEA, $100 to the substance abuse education fund and complete 10 hours community service.

Nicole Baer, 30, Tamaqua, was arrested June 16, 2018, by Tamaqua Police Department officer Thomas Rogers and charged with simple assault, two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct engage in fighting, disorderly conduct unreasonable noise, disorderly conduct hazardous physical offense and public drunkenness/similar misconduct.

On the simple assault charge, Baer must pay a $350 assessment fee, $50 to the CJEA, and a $50 bench warrant fee. She must complete 10 hours community service. She must also pay a $100 fine for the public drunkenness charge. The other charges were dismissed.

John R. Jeffries, 60, Barnesville, was arrested May 2, 2018, by Rush Township Police Department officer Ryan Oldt and charged with DUI/highest rate, failure to keep right, and careless driving. On the DUI charge, Jeffries must pay a $500 assessment fee, $50 to the CJEA, $25 to MCARE, $300 to the substance abuse education fund, and $520 to SMC-S. He must complete alcohol highway safety school and two to three months outpatient, and complete 10 hours community service. His license will be suspended for 60 days. On the failure to keep right charge he must pay costs and fines totaling $102. The careless driving charge was dismissed.
