Tamaqua police report on thefts

Tamaqua police released information on two recent theft cases.

• Josh Binder, 19, of Tamaqua, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after he allegedly removed a game system from a home on Hazle Street on March 7. The system was valued at $422.94.

• Robert Maurice Valentine, 51, of Valley View, was cited for retail theft after a reported theft from Boyer’s Food Mart, Cedar Street, on Feb. 25. The store manager told police that a man came into the store, took an Ellio’s Pizza into the bathroom, where he proceeded to eat it. Valentine admitted taking and eating the pizza but said he had planned on paying for it.

The pizza was valued at $3.
