Lehighton man charged with possession of marijuana, other drug paraphernalia
A Lehighton man faces charges of possession of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Adam Shimer of the Palmerton Borough Police Department:
On March 17, Shimer conducted a traffic stop on a black 1996 Honda for an extinguished registration light.
Upon contact with the occupants of the Honda, Shimer recognized an odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle.
Shimer confronted the occupants about the odor. The passenger, identified as Kyle Knauss, 23, produced a small plastic baggie containing alleged marijuana from within the vehicle’s center compartment.
Knauss admitted to patrolman O’Brien that he was the owner of the marijuana, which later field tested positive.
Knauss faces charges of possession or delivery of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing April 24 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
