Easter egg hunt
St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, invites children from Saylorsburg and Ross Township to the church’s annual outdoor Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Hunt areas will be set up for children ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. Prizes available in special categories for each age group. Bring a basket, bag, or bucket for collection.
The rain date is April 20.
St. Peter’s United Methodist Church is located at 924 Route. 115, Saylorsburg, next to the Dollar General. Due to the reconstruction phase of the church, no one will be allowed in the building.
Easter Eggstravaganza
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
There will be inflatables, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, an egg hunt, prizes and more.
Church families and friends are invited.
String art craft
McMichaels UMC is holding a string art craft event at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Anyone wishing to see them can do so by going to the McMichaels UMC Facebook page. There is a cost, which includes all supplies.

PVE PTO meets
The Pleasant Valley Elementary School PTO will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Chestnuthill Supervisors
The Chestnuthill Township Board of supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Chestnuthill Township municipal building.
Palm Sunday services
Effort UMC will have Palm Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
A Fellowship breakfast will precede the services, as served by the Trustees. Breakfast is served in Wesley Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A free will offering helps to offset the costs and the proceeds go to the Capital (Building) fund.
A children’s Easter pageant will be held at the church on Sunday at 3 p.m.
McMichaels UMC will have worship service at 9 a.m. and have an Easter luncheon at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
The Easter Puppy is slated to be present for all to enjoy and there will be activities for the children.
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert, will have Mass at 5 p.m. Saturday, and at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday as well as one in Spanish at 1 p.m.
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, will have Palm Sunday services at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday.
St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, will have a Palm Sunday worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will have Palm Sunday services, including procession with palms and Holy Communion, at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m.
Confirmation class will meet at 9 a.m. and at noon there will be an egg hunt and games.
Salem UCC, Gilbert, will have the usual 10 a.m. service with parishioners, friends and guests receiving palms at the service’s end.
Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, will have a worship service at 5 p.m. Saturday and then at 8 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with Sunday school at 9:15 a.m.
An Easter egg hunt will be held at 2 p.m., with games beginning the event. The egg hunt begins at 3 p.m. The event is open to the community with children ages 0 to grade 5 invited to participate.
Women’s Club
The GFWC Western Pocono Women’s Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Effort UMC on Merwinsburg Road in Effort.
The program is a demonstration of how to construct a quilt by the Quilts Made With Love committee. There will be stations from cutting to sewing and those attending will even have the opportunity to design a quilt.
Already completed quilts will be donated to Monroe County Children and Youth and to clients of Meals on Wheels.
The membership is collecting diapers, wipes and Onesies for the Angel’s Closet.
The April Refreshment Committee includes Greta Weaver, Dottie Sawyer, Sherry Getz, Gail Schellman and Linda Holms.
Early dismissals
Pleasant Valley schools will dismiss early on April 17, and students will be on spring recess until April 23, when schools resume at regular times.
Blood drive
A Miller-Keystone blood drive will be at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville beginning at noon on April 17.
Nutrition program
A nutrition class will be held at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville at 1 p.m. April 17, courtesy of Marisa Wagner, registered dietitian of Kinsley’s ShopRite.
Registration is required. There is no cost, but space is limited.

RSVP help
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at 570-420-3747 is seeking immediate volunteers for a project in the Kunkletown area that will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 4. Volunteers are needed in the following capacities: documentarian to ensure that all procedures are performed correctly; Help families design an emergency escape plan; installers of 10-year smoke detectors provided by the Red Cross; helpers to hand out refreshments or assist installers.
The RSVP office is located at 411 Main St., Suite 102B Stroudsburg.
Teams will meet in Chestnuthill.
