Tamaqua Area School Board
Tamaqua Area School Board’s finance committee recently recommended approving the following:
• Submission of the PlanCon K application for the 2017 bond to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• The 2019-20 Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 Operating Budget.
• Renewing an agreement for a one-year period beginning on July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.
• Submissions to Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Nutritional Services for Tamaqua Elementary Breakfast and Fruit and Vegetable grants for the 2019-20 school year.
• CSIU services for payroll, fund accounting and personnel at a cost of about $19,410 effective July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.
In other action
The board’s education committee recommended approval of:
• A Behavior Analyst Job description.
• The second reading of a policy related to child/student abuse.
• The annual Physics Day trip to Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey, May 3, leaving the high school at 7:30 a.m. and returning around 10:30 p.m.
• April 22 as an Act 80 Day.
• Homebound instruction for two students.
The board’s auxiliary committee recommended approval:
• To ratify the superintendent’s approval for request of the Drama Club adviser for the Drama Club to take a trip to New York City on April 6.
• Of an agreement with Frank Fabrizio and the Tamaqua Area Drama Club for reproduction of the recent production of “Big Fish.”
