Tamaqua student found with drugs

A Tamaqua Area Middle School student was found with illegal drugs at the school.

State police at Frackville said the 13-year-old juvenile was found in possession of suspected marijuana by school staff about 7:35 a.m. on March 12.

Staff called state police, since the school is in Walker Township.

An analysis of the substance found was confirmed to be marijuana, troopers said.

Charges were filed against the student with the Schuylkill County Juvenile Probation office.
