Road crew worker struck by car in Nesquehoning

A road crew worker was struck by a vehicle as he was working on guide rails in Nesquehoning Wednesday morning.

According to Nesquehoning police, officers were dispatched to the routes 209 and 93 intersection in the borough at 10:34 a.m.

Witnesses at the scene told police that the worker, who was working inside the coned boundary near the guide rails, was struck as a vehicle turned off Route 209 onto Route 93.

The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.

The driver was cooperative, police said, adding that after he was interviewed, he was taken for a blood test. Charges are pending.
