Identity confirmed for body of man found along creek

The man whose body was discovered near Nesquehoning Creek between the borough and Jim Thorpe has been identified.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said the man, whose name has not been released, was from Carbon County.

He was released from jail on March 29, where he had been serving a sentence for driving under the influence.

A pathologist determined on Wednesday that the man had been dead for one to two weeks.

Miller said the death was accidental, as the man fell down a steep bank.

Two fishermen discovered the body Sunday morning. The fishermen were heading down the creek toward James Run, along Route 209 in a pull-off area.
