Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners, on Thursday, acted on or discussed the following items on Thursday.

• Approved the Act 101, section 903, recycling coordinator grant application for 2018 with the estimated reimbursement of $4,565.16.

• Approved an agreement with attorney Holly A. Heintzelman to serve as conflict counsel for Carbon County Children and Youth Services at a rate of $65 per hour.

• Approved a proclamation naming May 5-11 as Corrections Employee Week in Carbon County.

• Approved a resolution recognizing the Lions Club International and District 14-U on their long-standing commitment to community service and to thank them for their efforts over the past 102 years.

Personnel

• Retirement: Carla J. Bartelt of Nesquehoning, district justice secretary II, effective April 22.

• Hire: Brenna J. Karnish of Lansford, park attendant, effective May 20.

• Court appointment: Erin C. Pannell of Bargersville, Indiana, summer law clerk, court administration, effective May 20.

• Change of status: David A. Slinger of Lehighton, from probation officer I, adult probation, to aging care manager III, Area Agency on Aging, effective May 6.
